IT’S FINALLY HERE!!!! I am beyond excited to announce that Max and I are officially engaged!!! After six amazing years together and at least three years of people asking when we were getting married, we can finally say we will be. Four years ago, he gave me our promise ring with our birthstones, agreeing back then, it was in the plans for the future. I now have a ring on each hand as a sign of our future together.
For those who don’t know, we met in October of 2010 when that year’s hockey season had started. I played in boys league because I think girl leagues are catty. He actually didn’t actively start talking to me until I dyed my hair brown on New Years Day 2011; I guess you can say he prefers brunettes! We chatted lots on the bench and I had finally found him on Facebook. We spent many nights chatting late on Facebook when we finally arranged a “skating hangout” January 21, 2011 and the rest is history. We were 17.
He proposed just this past Saturday, May 27th. So we’re only 5 days engaged!!! Both he & I knew, that I knew he had the ring since January. He had originally planned to do it during our 6th anniversary trip to Fairmont Chateau Montebello. If you haven’t seen the place, it’s most gorgeous log cabin hotel. But things were crazy at that time and it never happened. But finally, on Saturday, he picked me up in his white convertible BMW 325i we both love so much, drove me to the Gatineau Park Hills, hiked up a small trail and he got down on one knee overlooking the most beautiful view of our city and asked me to be his wife.
No, we don’t have a date yet and will likely hold off for a short while. We have been chatting about looking for a house, hopefully early in the near yet (or sooner if we can get our finances together!!) and will chat about what things look like after this occurs. Thank you so everyone who has supported our relationship and already congratulated us thus far. We are so blessed to have families that have welcomed the other so easily and lovingly.
Max, you already know I’m a complete cheeseball, but this ring has just done something else to me entirely. I’ve never wanted anything in my life as much as I want you by my side. I am so proud of everything that you’ve done in the last 6 1/2 years and I can’t even imagine the things you accomplish on your horizon. You’re my sole mate, my best friend, I trust you with my life and I can’t wait to take this crazy journey with you; I can’t wait to start a family.
For the time being, enjoy this absolutely stunning round cut solitaire rock that now lives on my left hand. Damn did he ever do good. Check out the teal peekaboo diamonds on the side!! He got them because he knows I love teal so much that it had to be incorporated.
