Late autumn engagement in manotick

I can’t believe today I have this on the blog. This one is super personal and close to my heart. I photographed my childhood best friend’s engagement session. Jillian and I met twenty-five years ago, when she visited me at the hospital when I was born; just two and a half months old herself. Our parents were next door neighbours. Along with our other neighbour, Brendan, us tots hung out as the only-child-trio until all of our second siblings were born. We attended kindergarten together, separated for elementary when they hopped all over the country, then back together for high school. We walked in separate circles, crossing paths every so often with classes and friend groups. We’ve seen different boys and life phases, but I’m so excited this girl has found her person.

These two will whisk themselves off to a destination wedding next summer, which is absolutely perfect for her, because I’m not sure I remember a year where her family didn’t fly south at some point. Congrats J (+ Neil), I’m so happy for you.
