I first met Dana + Brian in a coffee shop July of last year. Immediately, you could see how infectious and bubbly she was, and how he just still sat their in awe looking at her. I mean, it has to be something special when you’re willing to go out of your way to break the ‘no dating colleagues rule’ right? Growing up, they met working at a local Farm Boy, and they told me about times where he would pick her up from work, almost in a disguise in order to not be recognized.

After wandering around Watson’s Mill for their engagement session, making them do a few out-of-the-ordinary things, I knew this girl trusted me when I showed up on her wedding day and was basically handed the reins. “I follow you,” she said. I love showing up on wedding days with familiar vendors because my couples have epic taste.

The moment Dana’s sister opened the door to let me into the house, I could hear the “hiiiii Nicole!” from across the house. Dana was getting her hair done by the fabulous Kirsty of Topknot. I wandered upstairs to play with all of the little intricate details, including Capital Florist blooms, and all of the little Harry Potter touches. Brian had proposed with a Hogwarts letter where in her packing list, said ‘one engagement ring.’ We helped Dana into the fluffiest princess ball gown I have ever seen, and off we went to meet her groom.

Dana and Brian shared their first look under a willow tree by a creek, with the sunlight shining through. And you know they’re puppy parents when immediately they started talking about how they’ve missed their dog, Vader, all morning. Fortunately enough, it was right then that they were able to see him as they had hired a walker to bring him by for a couple of photos in the afternoon.

After a lovely afternoon of wedding party and family formal photos (how hot is Shannon’s groomswoman dress?!) the couple said “I do” in the Queens Lantern staircase of the Canadian Museum of Nature during the golden hour glow. Their copper rose and slate colour palette complimented the colours of the Barrick Salon their reception was in. We were humbled to be sat with their parents, as they told us more of their history together.

Can’t wait to see the adventures of these two as they head of to the UK in the spring!
