Nicole + Tom

Tom, originally from Ottawa, had moved to Toronto to attend Trent University. When Nicole joined an ultimate frisbee team in Toronto to meet guys, let me tell you, she found one. She said before her first game (ever), Tom showed her how to properly throw the frisbee, as well as the rules of the game. The rest is history.

They are just a really laid back, sweet, simple couple. Their first date was homemade pizza at Tom’s apartment to watch a movie. They are cottage go-ers and campers. After a four hour drive to T0m’s family cottage, Nicole was car sick and tired. Tom told her they had to park at his neighbour’s cottage because they were “re-sodding” their lawn. When he stopped the car, he pretended to take some of luggage out of the trunk and then came around her side of the car, trying to make her feel better. He asked her to go for a walk before they went inside. Assuming it was just so she felt better, she readily agreed. They started walking through the darkness and Tom kept saying very sweet things to her (which he had to repeat because she was busy trying not to get sick). Finally, she noticed one of their neighbour’s docks was covered in mini lights. Tom took her to the dock and got on one knee. She tells me her car sickness went away immediately!

Since I first met them, I just felt super connected to them. They were so easy-going, and just the simple kind of relationship that Max & I have. She planned a lot of the wedding herself, did a lot of DIY, and what she didn’t do, her friends and family did. For so much DIY, you can’t really tell it’s DIY! Major kudos to this super creative girl. They were also game on any photo opportunity we had (including walking down the street to frolic in a mosquito filled field). You friends and family were the sweetest. Thank you for the honour of spending your day with you.
