I was thrilled and honoured the day I saw Erin’s message in my inbox because I already knew what this wedding would entail simply involving this girl. I worked with Erin at a restaurant years ago back in my high school days, thinking nothing of it but one of the few sweet girls I could deal with working there ;) She has always been a tall, gorgeous fashionista. Little did I know, she had already been with Kyle three years at the time. Erin Elizabeth is an established blogger, and I was already anticipating every little detail of thought that was going to be part of their wedding day.
They have such a unique relationship; if you saw their engagement session, you can see that they’re not super mushy but show their love in this essence that you just can’t capture. They were travelling around Europe and Kyle had planned on proposing in Paris, which was at the very end of their vacation. Throughout the duration of their vacation, somehow, he was terrified that she would say no, even though they had been dating since we were seventeen. He dropped to one knee and said it was hard to get back up. They had a blissful two-year engagement and were in no rush to get married, because today, they have been together almost ten years.
Erin and her beautiful bridesmaids began the day at the stunning new Andaz Hotel in the Byward Market. She had the blush dresses, blush satin robes and pink champagne flowing throughout the room; shrieking every time she passed by that Vera Wang gown hanging on the door frame. The gents getting ready just next door with their cigars ready to go along side their gin and whiskey. They said, “I do” in front of their closest family and friends on the terrace of Lago.
We rushed off to the National Gallery of Canada for their portraits, because Erin could just not see her day without. She was right, hitting golden hour at just the right time to see the light flying through the pains of glass of the art gallery. Dinner, dancing, hugs and smiles never stopped throughout the evening. I could FEEL the love in that room and guests probably look at me funny when I sit there smiling through diner, but I just love that feeling and it’s just a small piece of why I love what I do.
Congratulations Erin & Kyle, I had such a fun time with you throughout this whole process and can’t wait to see your life’s future endevours.
