If you’re like me, you take a ton of pictures every summer (well….I snap them all year long…but you know…) but in this digital era, they never come off the computer screen! Ever since I started taking over taking photos for my mom, they never got printed. We have photo albums galore, until the transition to digital. Who goes back and looks through their computer for old photos?!
Since becoming a professional photographer, I see more and more meaning behind printing your photos. Especially for weddings, no one goes around with a laptop showing off their photos – I’m a huge album advocate. But what about your personal photos?! The last couple of trips I have taken with Max, I have started designing Blurb Books. I should be doing this with all of my photos eventually, but it’s a step in the right direction. When I get home from a trip, I sit down and design an album for the trip. Blurb has their own design software that makes it easy for anyone to design a book.
This being said, I don’t recommend this type of consumer quality book for your wedding photos. They are great and affordable for personal use but the covers do easily dent and the pages aren’t half as thick. You should be aiming for a quality that is only available through processional photographer order (not available to the everyday consumer). You can see the difference in wedding albums here.
These beautiful hard cover press printed books will eventually sit inside my future coffee table for the world to see. But for now, I pull them off the shelf and reminisce hot weather. Right now, Blurb is offering 25% off if you order before August 20!! I know that’s not a lot of time, but it doesn’t take long, so it’s definitely worth the deal. Just enter discount code GATHER25!
