When I first received Nicole’s email about photographing her wedding, little did I know, she and her twin sister had gone to high school with Max. Ottawa — big city, small town feel. Everyone knows someone. They had even gone on Europe trips together with her brother. She told me of her visions for their elegant Kingston wedding in the beautiful buildings of Queens University. Her sisters had gone to school there and her grandparents are from the area so it just seemed like a great fit for them.
I absolutely loved meeting her sweet family I had heard so much about at their engagement session. You could instantly tell they were salt of the earth type of people. For their wedding, we packed up and drove out to the stunning city of Kingston to explore. Nicole’s family is from Barbados so there were lovely West Indies touches and the Mount Gay amber rum was freely flowing. That’s the only rum Max and I drink as well after we fell love with Barbados in 2015 (then returned for our honeymoon). Their families were all so sweet to us and was an honour to spend the day with them. Would have stayed for the fun party if we weren’t two hours away from our babies!
